Tools and gear online. Well, nowadays you can buy anything you want online.
Alternatively you can go to any Home Depot, huntsmen or camping store or any other large store selling items for construction and outdoors. Look for bargains too, so here is my list of tools required:
- Water purifier
- Generator with extra fuel (any batteries that can be charged with wind or solar energy, hand powered generators)
- Compass
- Field radio with alternative charging option
- Tent
- Thermal blankets (space blankets)
- Airbed (optional)
- Ropes
- Foldable army shovel
- Knives
- Multitool
- Hammer
- Spade
- Axe
- Saw
- Nails, screws and small building materials, including silicone
- Plastic ties
- Duct tape
- Screwdriver
- Scissors
- Pliers
- Binoculars
- Batteries
- Flashlights
- Waterproof lighters (these are really cheap)
- Camping stove with extra fuel cartridges
- Kitchen utensils (pots, plates, knives, forks etc.)
- Tarp
- Plastic sheeting
- Plastic bags (such as waste bags)
- Gloves to avoid small injuries
- Trade items
- Medical kit + all the medical items you need in the long run.
- Food
- Fishing line and fishhooks, fishing net also is an option
- Extra set of clothing (including footwear)
- Whistle
- Sewing kit
- Printout or copy of important documents (passports, insurance policies, medical history, emergency contacts list)
- Paper and pen
- Entertainment for your kids (paper and pencils, color book, well anything age appropriate to keep them entertained)
- Wet wipes
- Bleach and other chemicals
- Geiger counter (in case you are prepping for nuclear disaster)
This list is a very basic one and can be updated according to the emergency you are prepping for.
